Just a quick note that my weird little corner of the intertubes has reached 100 posts with the last one. I never really thought that I would reach a milestone like 100 posts, which most successful bloggers do more quickly, if they don’t fail. In fact, most blogs, a staggering number, fail, and most (only 42% of active bloggers according to a 2011 Technorati survey) don’t post anything in the past month.
According to a 2008 survey by Technorati, which runs a search engine for blogs, only 7.4 million out of the 133 million blogs the company tracks had been updated in the past 120 days. That translates to 95 percent of blogs being essentially abandoned, left to lie fallow on the Web, where they become public remnants of a dream — or at least an ambition — unfulfilled. (From The New York Times, June 5, 2009 – over four years ago now…)
Certainly I’ve gone through phases where I post a lot, or almost nothing. Many of you that do read my blog are friends from my real life, those I know on Facebook, LinkedIn, and even twitter. I just wanted to thank each of you on being one of the readers on my little journey. This blog has meant a lot to me and still does, as a record of where I was and how far I’ve come. Thanks for reading, and please keep doing so.
