The 2014 Colour Run

If you haven’t heard of it – they look like a blast.  See the video below, but be sure to visit the site to see more information and get details about when the runs are happening.

I’m certainly going to try to hit one or two of these this year, depending on my schedule. They look like too much fun, and too different from a normal organized run to pass up!

Fitness through online tracking

Anyone who follows me on twitter or knows me through Facebook knows that I’m a data junkie – that most of my activities are posted online, automatically, through various services.  And those are the ones I allow to post for me!

So here is the common guide for the everyday non-techie, who wants a little digital help from stuff that’s always at their fingertips anyway, be it their computer or their smartphone.  Happy Monday!

The gyms are packed.

It is that time of year.  I hear from my gym-going friends that the gyms are packed right now, which is no surprise.  January, and the resolutions that accompany it, is the Black Friday of the locked-in gym contract world.  January is their big payday.  Most regular gym goers (and this handy infographic) will also tell you that by Valentine’s day, most gyms are settling back to the few that come regularly.

In honour of the regular gym goers and those of you that have made a goal and a commitment this year, rather than a revolution, this video is just for you.  Don’t be one of these guys.  Enjoy!

Infographic: be one of the 8%

I found some of the statistics on this particular infographic interesting – notably that only 8% of people actually reach the goals that the set.  So much for the “resolve” part of resolution.
